There’s an excellent network of hiking and mountain bike trails starting from Adelboden. The Engstligenfälle waterfall is a particularly beautiful spectacle – in fact it’s one of the highest-altitude waterfalls in Switzerland. Thun is the perfect place to stay the night for those in search of some urban flair.

Locarno – a touch of Italy

Locarno has everything you could wish for – Lago Maggiore, charming cafés and bars, the wonderful Piazza Grande and the nearby Verzasca Valley for discovery tours.

Insider tip – Jura & Drei-Seen-Land

The so-called ‘three-lake region’ (Drei-Seen-Land or Pays des Trois Lacs) includes the area around the lakes Bielersee, Neuenburgersee and Murtensee. Whether you prefer culture, boat trips or hikes: with their fascinating history and wild, unspoilt landscape, the Jura Mountains are always well worth a trip. There are lots of different towns to visit, too, including Solothurn, Biel, Murten and the medieval Estavayer-le-Lac.

Dolcefarniente at Lake Aegeri

The Battle of Morgaten took place on the south-eastern banks of Lake Aegeri. Today the region attracts all kinds of visitors and holidaymakers. Lake Aegeri is an experience to look forward to – whether for swimming, fishing or on a boat.
